What is PrankDrop?

PrankDrop is a free collection of browser-based prank tools designed to look frighteningly real — without actually doing anything harmful. Every tool on PrankDrop is a pure visual simulation that runs in your browser and reveals itself as a joke at the end.

We built PrankDrop because the best pranks on the internet are effortless, shareable, and harmless. You shouldn't need to download an app, create an account, or spend money to make your friends panic for ten seconds. A link should be enough.

Why we built this

We were tired of prank tools that required downloads, permissions, app store approvals, and your email address just to show someone a fake cracked screen. That's too much friction for what should be a two-second setup.

PrankDrop started with one tool — a fake cracked screen — and a simple idea: what if the link was the prank? Send it, they open it, the magic happens. No setup on their end. No cleanup on yours.

Since then we've built simulations of Android factory resets, Windows Defender alerts, iPhone storage warnings, hacker countdown timers, and even a fully interactive BlackBerry Messenger from 2011. All free, all instant, all browser-based.

A note on responsible pranking

We take the "harmless" part seriously. PrankDrop tools are designed for use between friends, family members, and colleagues who share a sense of humor. They are not intended to be used on strangers, in professional settings without consent, or on anyone who might experience genuine distress.

Every tool automatically reveals itself as a joke — but we still ask that you know your audience, reveal the prank quickly, and use your judgment. Mischief is only funny when everyone can laugh about it afterward.
